The Stefly GNSS canopy antenna is attached to the inside of the glider canopy, behind the pilot, with 3M VHB tape. If needed, the tape can be removed without leaving residue.
Thanks to its position under the canopy, the antenna offers very good reception upwards, forwards and to the sides. For the best possible reception towards the rear, the antenna should be mounted a few centimetres in front of the canopy frame, as metal fittings or carbon fibre (CFRP) in the frame can impair reception.
Safety note on emergency canopy jettison: The antenna cable must be routed with a loop so that the canopy can move at least 30 cm away from the aircraft before the cable becomes taut. In addition, a quick-disconnect (SMB socket and plug) can be integrated into the antenna cable.
Note before ordering: Canopy lengths and seating positions vary. Before ordering, please check that there is enough space behind your head for the antenna.
