The SteFly remote control stick is the most versatile USB input option for the OpenVario, XCNav or XCTouchNav with XCSoar. Due to its ergonomic shape, it fits comfortably in your hand. Durable black leather , which is also used for steering wheels in premium automobiles, in combination with a prominent decorative stitch, gives the control stick an elegant appearance. You can choose between four standard colours of the stiching We can realize individual special colours on request as well.
Intuitive operation of XCSoar
The OpenVario is operated by a 4-way Joystick with a central pushbutton, 3 additional pushbuttons (function Fn, menu M, exit menu X) and a button for variometer speed to fly switchover, which is ergonomically placed for the index finger. Of course there is also one radio pushbutton (PTT) integrated in the CFRP front panel.
NEW: easy installation thanks to the USB-A connector with spring terminals
NEW: Version 4.2 has been completely revised. A total of 6 individually insulated, aviation-approved TEFZEL wires replaced the thick and rigid USB cable previously used. For easy assembly, the cables can be disconnected and reconnected to the USB-A terminal block without tools. All you have to do is push the slides on the terminal block with your finger or a screw driver in the opposite direction. Another new feature is that an engine start button can be installed. For this purpose, the upper button of the PCB can be removed.
SCOPE OF DELIVERY
- fully assembled control stick handle with built-in electronics and button for variometer speed to fly switchover
- standard thread colors of the decorative stitching: black, red, blue, grey
- inner diameter available: 18.2 mm; 19.3 mm; 20.1 mm; 22.2 mm; 24.3 mm
- connection to the control rod with aluminum clamping mechanism (screws included)
- high-quality, aviation TEFZEL wires for the USB / PTT connection; are already soldered to the circuit board (cable length 2.5 m each)
- optional: 2,5 m Luftahrt-TEFZEL-Kabel am Vario-Sollfahrt-Umschalter für den Anschluss an ein externes Variometer
- USB-A connector, which can be disconnected from the wires during installation due to the spring terminals - no soldering necessary
- 3 x M3 screws for installing the stick to the control rod

If this file is integrated into OpenSoar as described in the instructions, pressing the M button will open the volume setting menu. Occasional programme crashes caused by pressing buttons quickly have been eliminated.
