Our Interpretation of the Classic Glider Pilot Hat<\/h1>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Anyone who, like a glider pilot, is exposed to the sun all day in the cockpit must wear appropriate headgear in order to keep a cool head even in stressful situations. A classic glider pilot hat or thermal hat is characterized by a brim that runs all the way around, so that not only the head itself, but also the neck and ears are protected from too much sun. We have of course adopted this for the FLIGHTLVL 132 glider pilot hat. But features such as an extra-soft, all-round sweatband on the inside, a stretchy textile material and side ventilation holes significantly increase wearing comfort.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

    In terms of color, we chose a friendly shade of blue that harmonizes perfectly with the embroidered silver SteFly eagle logo.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

    But why is the color called \u201cGondola Blue\u201d?<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

    We didn't want to create another white thermal hat that reflects on the inside of the canopy due to the reflective color. Furthermore a whit hat quickly becomes unsightly on the airfield in the tough everyday piloting life. We chose a classy, blue shade that we called \"Gondola Blue\". The reason is that the boat covers of the Venetian gondolas, which protect the valuable boats from sun, rain and wind, are exactly in this color. And similarly, our functional thermal hat was designed to protect the committed glider pilot from these weather elements.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
